Mood board inspired by a wedding event at Hotel Villa Cipressi, Italy

Back in 2016 I started a sketchbook with interior design illustrations in watercolors. I’m a trained painter, but I’ve never experienced watercolors before. I was eager to learn and express as fast as possible the feeling I had seeing different interiors created by professionals. My Instagram account @interiors_illustrator is my digital sketchbook. There you can see all the beautiful interiors I felt inspired by.

Three years ago, I started to think about hotels. They are the only place you can experience luxury and customer service in one place. As an interior architect, they become one of my inspiration sources. My sketches are studies of another professional work. I’m learning, I’m admiring and I feel inspired to be authentic in my work.

Hotel Villa Cipressi

When I saw the picture two senses where immediately activated. I felt the breeze and the sea smell which I adore. It was combined with the architecture of the terrace, the different textures, the green leaves and the sun coming through the leaves. Looking at the color of the leaves I could imagine is a late summer with amazing air temperature. The fountain and the colors of the flowers made me so happy! I wish I could see an image with the food and my visual experience would have been complete.

Then I felt immediately transported in my creative flow. I love this so much! My mind and hands went free looking after textures and colors, wood samples, Scandinavian furniture from Carl Hansen & Søn to balance the rough textures and the bold colors. And TERAZZO, marble grit floor tiles (first seen in 19th century), from Grandinetti, Italy
